Ennui

7 December, 2008 at 10:04 pm (knitting, life)

Do you ever get that feeling like none of your knitting is working out, and you have so much of it to do, and it’s all on a deadline, and you just want to work on something fun but you can’t because you’ve got all these other projects going, and maybe this whole thing isn’t worth it and I just ought to sell my entire stash and give up this knitting thing because obviously I’m no good at it?

I think I need to cast on for something quick and fun.

Yes! That is the point that I declared an end to christmas knitting and the start to wonderful selfish personal knitting- I haven’t looked back since!

Yes, I felt like that yesterday. Something quick and fun sounds like the perfect pick up

You may wish to refer to a twitter a few days ago about a stupid baby blanket I’m knitting on commission. Which if I wasn’t getting paid an obscene amount of money to do a fan and feather blanket I would have lit on fire in the bathtub days ago.

I knit a soap sack to break the monotony. It wasn’t enough. I feel a pair of mittens coming on.

I’m going through a version of that sort of knitting ennui at the moment. It’s not that I have so much to do, it’s that there’s so much I want to do, and I’m so indecisive that it’s resulting in nothing appealing to me enough to pick up the needles. I should know by now that this tends to happen after a period of freakish productivity.

Glad that your neato toy warded off the knitting blues for you. =D
